Whew ! 2025 has started off quite eventful for us here at King Elizabeth Makeup Artistry.
Let's chat ! In November of 2024 I got a call from my girls at Beyond the Boogie Dance Company, Tiff and Nikita. They asked if I was able to do their makeup for a news spotlight the day before Thanksgiving. Of course I agreed. During their makeup appointment, I asked Tiffany what station they would be going to. She responded, News 12.
Funny story, I applied to makeup jobs at News 12 numerous times. I never heard anything back. I told Tiffany, that my makeup application would be my walking resume. A few hours later as I am knee -deep in Thanksgiving errands, I get a text from Tiffany stating that the anchor loved their makeup and wishes to give me my own spotlight. I re-read that text and immediately called my best friend. I said, I keep playing small and God keeps calling me to dream bigger. I wanted a job and God said, "I gave you the job already, it's time for the exposure".
So, I reach out to the anchor Ms. Della Crews and confirm a date, I reach out to my team and make sure their available and so it was. The segment turned out better than I could've imagined. Stepping from behind the scenes to in front of the camera was different, it's been a while. Some of you may not know I use to model, and being in front of the camera was never something I enjoyed. However, now as we are scaling King Elizabeth into something that will continue to stand the test of time, and introducing the world to BKLYN Swim Club as well; there's no other choice but to garnish exposure.
I have some other things I am cooking up this year that I am excited about. I thank you all for supporting King Elizabeth consistently throughout the years. Just think, we are just getting started.
